Child Safety Standards
Last updated August 3, 2026
Clarity's standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) — what is forbidden, how to report it, and who to reach.
Our position
Clarity: AI Thought Organizer is published by Clarity Labs. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and for child sexual abuse material (CSAM). There is no version of this that we treat as a grey area, and no warning step before enforcement.
These standards apply to every person who uses Clarity, on every platform we ship to, everywhere in the world. They sit alongside our Privacy Policy and the app store policies of Google Play and the Apple App Store.
What Clarity is, and why that matters here
Clarity is a private, single-user notebook. You speak or type a thought, and AI sorts it into your own tasks, notes, ideas and reminders. That is the whole product.
There is no messaging, no sharing, no comments, no friend list, no public profile, no feed, and no way for one person using Clarity to see, contact, or send anything to another person using Clarity. Accounts cannot be discovered or joined. Nothing you write is visible to any other user.
We say this plainly because it defines the risk surface: Clarity offers no channel through which an adult could contact, groom, or solicit a child. We still publish these standards, because a lack of contact features does not remove our duty to act on abuse of the service itself.
Prohibited content and conduct
It is a violation of these standards to use Clarity, or any part of it, to:
Store, upload, transcribe, generate, request or transmit child sexual abuse material, or any content that sexually exploits or sexualizes a minor — including material that is drawn, edited, or AI-generated, and including material where no real child was involved.
Attempt to make the AI features produce sexualized depictions or descriptions of minors, or produce guidance for abusing a child.
Plan, record, coordinate, document, or otherwise facilitate the sexual abuse, exploitation, grooming, trafficking, or sexual extortion of a child, whether or not the abuse takes place inside the app.
Advertise, solicit, or share access to CSAM held elsewhere, including links, handles, passwords, or instructions for finding it.
"Minor" means anyone under 18, regardless of the age of majority or age of consent where they live.
Age requirement
Clarity is not designed or directed to children. You must be 16 or older to create an account. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 16, we close it and delete the data. If you believe a child has created an account, tell us at anelechichiebuka@gmail.com and we will act on it.
How we prevent and detect abuse
By design — there is no user-to-user contact, no content discovery, and no public surface in Clarity, so the service cannot be used to reach a child through it.
At the AI layer — the models that organize your thoughts (Anthropic's Claude, and Google Cloud's Vertex AI for search) refuse requests involving the sexual exploitation of minors under their own usage policies. Attempts to route CSAE material through those features fail, and we do not build any path around that refusal.
In our infrastructure — Clarity runs on Google Firebase and Google Cloud, and use of the service is bound by their acceptable use policies as well as ours.
Your notes are private, and we do not browse them for entertainment or advertising. We do act on reports, and we access account content where we have a specific, good-faith reason — a report, a safety signal, or valid legal process.
Reporting a concern
Email anelechichiebuka@gmail.com with the subject line "CHILD SAFETY". A person reads that inbox. Include whatever you can — the account email or username, what you saw, and when. You do not need a Clarity account to report, and you may report anonymously.
We aim to acknowledge child safety reports within 24 hours and to act on confirmed reports immediately. Child safety reports jump every other queue we have.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. In the United States you can also report to the NCMEC CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678. Reporting to us is not a substitute for reporting to the authorities.
What happens after a report
We investigate promptly and preserve the relevant records.
Confirmed CSAE violations result in immediate and permanent termination of the account and deletion of the offending content from the service. There is no warning, no strike system, and no reinstatement.
We report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to the appropriate national authority or law enforcement agency, and we cooperate fully with lawful requests from them, retaining data as long as the law requires us to.
We do not tell the reported account holder who reported them.
Legal compliance
We comply with the child safety laws that apply to us and to the markets we ship in, and with the child safety requirements of Google Play and the Apple App Store. Where a legal obligation and a product preference conflict, the legal obligation wins.
Point of contact
Clarity Labs designates anelechichiebuka@gmail.com as the point of contact for child safety and CSAE matters, including enquiries from Google, Apple, NCMEC, regulators, and law enforcement. Mark the subject line "CHILD SAFETY" so it is routed correctly.
Keeping this current
We review these standards at least once a year, and again whenever we ship a feature that changes how content moves through Clarity. The date at the top of this page reflects the last review.
