Clarity is for the messy thoughts you'd rather not type into a cloud you don't trust. Here's exactly what we do with what you share.
Who we are
Clarity is a voice-first thought organizer operated by Clarity Labs. This policy explains what we collect when you use the Clarity mobile app or this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
If anything here is unclear, write to us at anelechichiebuka@gmail.com and a human will answer.
Information you give us
Account details — your name, email, and the auth provider you signed in with (Google or Apple). We use these to identify your account and send essential messages like sign-in links and the weekly review notification.
Your captures — every thought you dump (by voice or text) and the structured items Clarity produces from it. This is the core product data. It belongs to you. You can delete any individual item in the app at any time, or ask us to delete the whole account.
Voice audio — when you use voice capture, audio is transcribed on-device by your phone's built-in speech engine. We never send raw audio to our servers. Only the transcribed text reaches Clarity.
Information collected automatically
Usage analytics — anonymized events like "dump completed" or "review started" so we can tell which features are useful. We do not collect the content of your thoughts as analytics.
Device & diagnostics — model, OS version, and crash logs so we can fix bugs.
How we use it
To run the product — store your captures, sort them with AI, surface them when you ask, and notify you about reviews you've opted into.
To improve the product — aggregate, anonymized usage tells us which features deserve more work.
To support you — when you email us, we may look at your recent activity to answer accurately.
Third-party processors
Firebase (Google) — authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Functions, and push notifications. Your data is stored in Google's secure infrastructure under their data processing terms.
Anthropic — Claude is the model that sorts your thoughts into tasks, ideas, and notes. We send the minimum text required, never your account identifiers. Anthropic does not retain inputs for training under our API agreement.
Google Cloud (Vertex AI) — generates the embeddings that power semantic search. The same retention terms apply.
We do not sell data to advertisers. We do not run ads.
Retention
Your captures and structured items live in your Firestore account until you delete them or close your account. Daily review transcripts are kept hot for six months, then archived. Anonymized analytics events are kept for thirteen months.
To close your account, email anelechichiebuka@gmail.com from the address on the account, or follow the steps on our account deletion page. Everything is removed within 30 days, except where law requires us to keep records longer.
Your rights
You can request a full export of your data, ask us to correct anything wrong, or delete your account at any time. If you're in the EU, UK, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR / CCPA — including the right to object to processing. Email anelechichiebuka@gmail.com and we'll respond within 30 days.
Children
Clarity isn't designed for anyone under 16. If we learn we've collected data from a child, we delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy in a material way, we'll let you know in the app and by email before the change takes effect. Minor edits (typo fixes, clearer wording) will simply be reflected here with an updated date.
Questions?
Email anelechichiebuka@gmail.com and a person — not a bot — will get back to you. To close your account, see account deletion.
